Capital Z of Texas Car Club member Sam Stipe was severely burned early Monday morning,
May 9th in an explosion and fire at his shop Midnite Motors in Austin, TX. Sam sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns
to 70-75% of his body and is listed in critical condition at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He is expected to
pull through, but will have a long healing process and recovery period. Sam was running a small auto repair shop which is a total loss, the heat was so intense that the wheels on his Z
melted as did the tool boxes and most everything else. The damages are estimated to in excess of $300,000.00. There were two other people in the shop at the time. One of those was taken to Brook Army Medical in San Antonio
with 80-85% burns and is in serious condition. The other person who pulled Sam and the other man out of the fire was
treated at a local Austin hospital, and released.
To help with some of the costs of his care and recovery, Capital Z of Texas (CZOT) has established a donation
account through Bank of America. Donations can be made at any Bank of America location either by walk-in,
drive in or by mail.

Sam has been a member of our Z family for over 3 years, and we ask that you please keep him and his family along
